My Private Therapy Practice

People reach out for support for many different reasons. I am here to help and support you with your  individual needs. Navigating though  life can be complicated and often leave us with undesirable feelings. However, we can work together to achieve your goals. I want the therapeutic process to feel helpful and you to feel supported by our relationship. This supportive relationship will be nonjudgmental, compassionate and I will always be open to listening to your thoughts and feelings. I can provide you a nurturing space so you can speak freely and share your concerns, with confidentiality. I look forward to supporting you.

My Treatment Focus for Adults and Children

My focus will be to support you through a process that will facilitate  healing, and help you become aware of your inner strengths. I can achieve this by using evidence based therapy practices and teaching you skills that will be tailored to fit your goals.  I have advanced practice and experience in teaching adults and children how to better manage their emotions and facilitate problem solving. While adults often prefer talk therapy, children often need other outlets to express themselves.  I use techniques with children  that are play therapy based such as art, sand tray, music and yoga. Using movement and objects to express emotions can be powerful and healing for children.  I believe everyone can excel when given the tools and supports they need.

Yoga and Meditation

I have been a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance since 2004.   https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=2332 I have experienced first hand the benefits of using yoga to stay healthy and find balance in a chaotic world. We also know that there is a plethora of research on how yoga has various health benefits both physical and mental. In my yoga classes we will focus on mindfulness and learning yoga techniques that you can do at home. Some examples of this can be using yoga to manage anxiety, emotional balance, unhealthy habits such as poor food choices, test anxiety or managing stresses at work,home, school and to improve relationships. Let me teach you the tools you need to find more balance.

As a veteran myself, I understand the complex demands of serving in the military. In addition, I can empathize and relate to veterans families and loved ones.  Not only did I serve in the U.S. Marine Corp for 9 years, I have also been the one back home while a loved in is deployed. Both are challenging situations. Nevertheless, I can provide down to earth tools and support

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through therapy I can help you get on a path to recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. I specialize in working with individuals who suffer from mood disorders and anxiety. I also have specialized experience in working with individuals who are in high stress professional careers. I spent several years working with American and Foreign Diplomats, CEO's of corporations and Medical Professionals. I understand the additional need for privacy and stressors related to intense and demanding work environments.

Trauma & PTSD

Having suffered from complex trauma and PTSD, I have a special place in my heart for survivors of trauma. Many individuals do experience  symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, guilt, difficulty with impulse control, anger, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you manage these symptoms and guide you through the a process of healing. A therapeutic relationship to address trauma must be supportive and patient. I want you to feel this in our relationship.

An important part of managing our mental health is being educated, in the best practices. I offer classes and specific courses to provide education on topics such as, stress management, anger management, anxiety, creating healthy sleep habits and parenting. We all struggle with day to day life at times. Learn the tools to make it easier and more productive.
